At Augesir we're always looking for great people, we believe investing in great relationships is the foundation of our success...period. We're a unique organization in terms of how we operate, we're quite idealistic but also very performance oriented. This isn't a culture that's for everyone and so we'd ask that you read carefully before deciding to submit yourself as a possible candidate. At a basic level, if you're not passionate about creating mastery and improvement, that is to say, getting better and better at what you do and finding new ways of serving our clients and the industry better it's not a fit. We are not like most organizations, we don't want to be, and we won't become like them. Consequently, the following information lays out characteristics that are important to us in everyone we hire, as well as characteristics of our company that are important for you to realize before you apply.
About Us
We believe in the concept of virtual offices, meaning we don't have a regular office space and we don't want one. It results in extra costs, requires extra travel each day for our team, takes additional and under-used resources, damages the environment, and supports an illusion that certain work structure is necessary when it is not. This means you'll work from home...or from wherever you want, be that a coffee shop, a private cabin on the beach, or a shifting vacation spot around the world. We expect ever improving results, but where you achieve those results from is completely up to you.
We believe our people are adults, everyone on our team is intelligent and closer to the problems they face than we are and consequently we're about trusting them to make decisions, measuring the results, and improving. If you're not willing to take ownership, accountability, and responsibility, don't join. If we have to second guess your decisions after training then you probably shouldn't be working for us so expect to have ownership placed in your lap and to be expected to live up to it. We will not be your babysitter and we will not be your bottleneck.
We are not a company that is into maintaining, we are into innovating, improving for ourselves and our clients is a constant never-ending pursuit. We measure your success based on the level of improvement you bring to yourself, our clients, and our team, if you aren't interested in pursuing continual improvement, even radical improvement, don't apply.
We believe communication is the #1 factor in building great relationships and we expect extensive communication. If you're a rockstar whose unwilling to communicate you'll be fired, we aren't interested in those people. This is a team environment and by communicating and working together we achieve more than any of us ever could alone.
We REQUIRE and provide constant, open, honest feedback. We aren't interested in politics, we're not interested in withholding. If you aren't happy, we want to hear about it, if you disagree, we want to hear about it. This being said, when an issue has been brought to light, discussed and a decision has been reached we expect you to support the team by supporting the decision and making the best of it. We recognize not all of these decisions will be perfect, but we commit to our decisions and do whatever possible to ensure their success.
We believe in measureable results not effort as the definition of success. If you're going to tell us "I feel like..." to describe whether you've done well or not, that's a problem. How well you did is not a matter of feelings, it's a matter of results, we got the sale or we didn't, we placed more candidates this month than we did last month or we didn't working twice as hard and getting less results means we did poorly not better. If you're not prepared to evaluate yourself and be evaluated based on objective results, this isn't the company for you.
We believe in having fun and being accountable, blame, politics, complaints, negativity, etc. aren't welcome within our culture. Each day we expect you to focus on where you can make a difference now and then go to work having fun doing it, if you're not going to, don't come in that day. If this isn't within your personality, don't apply.
We are people focused, at the end of the day, nothing we do matters unless it improves the lives of the people we work with, our clients, candidates, and team, not the numbers. Improving numbers isn't always good, it's only good when it correlates to an improvement in the lives of real people. Consequently, we expect everyone on our team to treat everyone they encounter with respect, caring, understanding, and gratitude, focused on making their lives a little better, that will be the foundation of our success together.
We are ruthless about efficiency, measuring inputs and we'll consequently challenge what you're doing. We are fanatical about eliminating unnecessary steps, resources, etc. We're going to challenge and expect you to do the same. This might be painful at times, but it's for all of our good, it allows us to take on more, frees us up to pursue the things we love, and avoids wasting our clients and candidates time. Only apply if this is something you'll pursue willingly.
About People We Hire
We don't hire for the short term, we believe ALL the value is in depth, meaning the value you provide to us, our clients, and yourself isn't going to show up much during the early stage but rather compounds over our time together, as you learn the business, refine your skill, form relationships, etc. If you don't intend to work with us for at least 5 years don't apply.
We have to like you, we are going to invest a lot in you and if we don't get along that's going to be a problem. This might seem self-evident and it's something we struggle with because we value people who challenge us and that isn't always pleasant for us, but it's really important that we get along, can enjoy each other's working style, insights, and opinions. Having the same values is by far more important than anything else when we're hiring someone. These values are long term quality over quantity approach. Improvement in results as the measure of success. The real life experiences of people as our focus. The pursuit of a better way and the unwillingness to do anything unless we can find a way to do it better. A passion for making a difference for organizations, transforming the world by transforming the world's organizations and uplifting the lives of their teams in the process.
We will coach you, you have to be open to it. If you think you know, you don't, we need people who are curious, willing to experiment, work hard and work intelligently. This will be HARD! You have to be willing to go through that. You'll ask "how do I do this?" and we'll ask back "how might you do that?" You'll ask "what should I do?" and we'll ask "what do you think you should you do?" This at times will frustrate you, it will make you think, but you'll grow as a result and be more valuable to yourself and us.
We expect you to love what you do, period. People spend 25% of their week at work in most cases if you don't enjoy that time, it's a non-starter. You should be excited and inspired by what you're doing. If you don't like your profession, get out of it. If you do love what you do, let's create success together.
Bottom Line
Our belief is that nothing is more valuable than investing in our team. We'll challenge you, we'll push your limits, we'll expect you to do the same thing for yourself. We won't be there to hold your hand, but we'll be with you along the way. You'll walk away from your time with us a more capable person than when you arrived and hopefully have a lot of great relationships as well. If that's something you desperately want, are willing to get uncomfortable, frustrated, tired, and still work hard for then it might be a good fit, let's chat.

Sales/Account Management
This is a unique sales role in the sense that we're not just looking for customers. We're looking for companies to represent that are leaders in their field, they want to improve within their field and truly value their people in actions not just words. Our goal is to work with these organizations, provide them some amazing value and then grow the depth and breadth of that relationship to become a trusted advisor and strategic partner to each of those clients.
Our philosophy of sales is there are only two reasons someone won't work with us: either it's not a win - win, in which case we don't want to work with them, or we haven't communicated the value effectively. We believe the success of our organization is built on creating growth in our client's organizations through their people and the human resources intelligence we provide. A lot of time therefore is spent ensuring we're working with the right clients and then learning to communicate something genuinely valuable to them and then finding additional ways to help grow their business through their people and human resources intelligence.
We are also very committed to efficiency and results, meaning we're not interested in success by volume. We value quality over quantity and this reflects in how we approach sales. Our objective is to ensure in advance that each call, each meeting, etc. brings a positive result. "Every battle is won or lost before it is fought", we spend our energy learning how to win sales before the sales call starts.
Finally, our structure is very improvement in results focused. While we value structure, coaching, communication, etc. we offer considerable freedom so long as you're consistently improving and producing results. If you aren't, it's probably due to poor approach, which we'll work with you to correct, or a lack of commitment, in which case there isn't a fit. If your results are continually improving we don't mind if you're traveling in South America, working only 2 hours per week, or working at night instead of during the day, we encourage you to pursue these goals by working intelligently and not just aggressively.
We pay base plus commission, for those who really desire it we can offer a commission only structure though we don't really encourage it as we like to focus on collaboration in our work process and find concerns with the nature of rewarding individuals exclusively.

Recruiter/Position Match Specialists
The key challenges in this position tend to be finding qualified people quickly, and objectively assessing their future performance. We use standardized processes for evaluating positions, interviewing, etc. to ensure consistency. Your job will involve researching via the internet, searching databases, writing & posting ads, networking, cold calling & warm calling to find candidates for our positions. These candidates will then need to be reviewed, sorted, and screened. Where possible, if we find really great candidates we'll look for new clients to find them.
Our culture is collaborative, we encourage regular and extensive communication between the recruiting and sales/marketing people within the organization, providing cross referrals and information to help create group success.
Individuals in this position must love connecting with new people, be naturally curious about them, and able to make objective assessments about whether there is a fit between them and the clients.
The same results oriented principles mentioned for our sales people apply for our recruiters, we value structure but don't mind if you want to work from another continent while traveling, work fewer hours per week, spend your days with your family, etc. so long as the results are being achieved and you're showing improvement in your position. We'd love to see you living a life you love, traveling, spending time with people you love, and working with us not because you have to, but because you love it, the work, the people, and the accomplishments.
